Captain
Lincoln in the BlackHawk wars
 |
|
This
photographic composite from Bryan Eaton, noted Lincoln author
and artist is rendition of how Abraham Lincoln might have looked
serving in the Black Hawk Wars in buckskin and "coon"
hat.
Lincoln's
facial features come from the Lincoln photograph taken by Alexander
Hesler that was digitially colored for " Color of Lincoln"
published in 2009.
Lincoln
became a Captain during his first enlistment by the simpel vote
of the men who lined up behind Lincoln in a large majority; thus
choosing Lincoln over another military officer wanting to take
command of the unit.
What
is shown for the fist time is the digital artistry that brings
photorealism to conceptual representations of Abraham Lincoln.

The
Lincolns entering Ford's Theatre
Lincoln author and artist, Bryan Eaton, has created an image of the
Lincoln's entering Ford's theatre. Mr Eaton commented that " ..these
recreations give on a feeling of what it must have been like to be at
Ford's thatre on that spring evening". Historians routinely point
out that Lincoln should be evaluated based on the times in which he
lived. These images bring us one step closer to getting a true understanding
of those times.
To better understand the way of life and means of travel, here is a
colorized photo of Lexington Kentucky in 1860. The dirt roads and horse
drawn carriages harken back to simpler times.
